Grace Fernandez (MHC-I) is a Master’s student in Mental Health Counseling at Teachers
College, Columbia University, where she is completing her clinical training. She works with
adolescents, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life
transitions, relationship concerns, and reproductive and perinatal mental health challenges.
Grace views therapy as a collaborative process grounded in warmth, curiosity, and compassion.
She believes that therapy begins with creating a space where clients feel safe, heard, and
understood. Her approach is individualized to each person’s unique experiences, needs, and
goals, drawing from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral (CBT), person-centered,
attachment-based, family systems, strengths-based, and mentalization-based approaches. She
works collaboratively with clients to develop greater self-awareness, better understand patterns
in their relationships and emotions, navigate life’s challenges, and create meaningful change.
Alongside her clinical work, Grace has experience conducting psychological assessments and
research at Weill Cornell Medicine’s Center for Reproductive Medicine and supporting
individuals experiencing emotional distress through Crisis Text Line. She is particularly
passionate about reproductive and women’s mental health, trauma-informed care, relationships
and family dynamics, and the transition to parenthood. She is committed to providing culturally
responsive and compassionate care that honors each client’s background, values, and individual
goals.
