Dr. Daniel Santarsieri is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in treatment-resistant
depression, complex mood disorders, and interventional psychiatry. He combines expertise in
emerging biological treatments with an appreciation for the psychological, interpersonal, and
emotional dimensions of mental health. Previously, Dr. Santarsieri served as Director of Clinical
Services at Principium Psychiatry in New York City, helping lead a multidisciplinary practice
offering Spravato, IV ketamine, TMS, ECT, and intensive outpatient services. His clinical work
encompassed medication management, psychotherapy, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy,
integrating the neurobiological effects of treatment with therapeutic support to help patients
translate symptom relief into meaningful, lasting change.
Dr. Santarsieri earned his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University and
completed his psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, where he served as Chief
Resident. He graduated cum laude from Tufts University with a degree in Biopsychology and has
published research reviews on antidepressant efficacy and the neurobiological basis for
combining psychotherapy with pharmacotherapy. He has additional training in psychedelic
integration through Fluence. Drawing on psychodynamic principles, CBT, ACT, and
mindfulness, Dr. Santarsieri brings a psychotherapist’s understanding of each patient to the
precision of modern interventional psychiatry, offering care that is both scientifically grounded
and deeply individualized.
