Mimi Gupta is a psychotherapist who holds dual Masters degrees in Psychological Counseling and Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University. She works with people experiencing anxiety, depression, loss and trauma, and longstanding patterns of emotional dysregulation and interpersonal difficulties.

Mimi views therapy as a collaborative process, and her first priority is to understand her client's unique goals and needs. She primarily takes a mentalization based approach to treatment. She has been trained in brief dynamic psychotherapies, mentalization based therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy skills, personality disorders, loss and trauma, group therapy, multicultural counseling, and the global context of mental health care.

Mimi also holds a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and a Post-Baccalaureate in Counseling and Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to entering the world of mental health care, she spent many years as an engineer in the corporate world. In her free time, Mimi enjoys reading, traveling, NYC food and culture, and long walks in the park with her dog.
